Brief CVs of the organizers

Shan Huang recevied the M.S. degree in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 2015. She is currently a researcher at Tencent. Hercurrentresearchinterestsincludeoptical character recognition and multimodal machine learning.
Shen Huang received the Ph.D. degree in the Institution of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2014. He is currently a researcher at Tencent. His current research interests include speech recognition and optical character recognition.
Pengfei Hu received the B.S. degree in Electronic commerce from Beijing Information Science and Technology University, Beijing, China, in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree in the Institution of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2014. He is currently a researcher at Tencent. His current research interests include speech recognition and audio classfication.
Xiang Wang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2014 and 2019, respectively. He is currently a researcher at Tencent. His research interests are computer vision and machine learning, with particular interests in image restoration, semantic segmentation and weakly- supervised learning. He serves as a reviewer for TIP, CVPR, ICCV, ICLR and AAAI.
Jian Kang received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2013 and the Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2018. He is currently a researcher at Tencent. His current research interests include speech recognition and optical character recognition.
Lianwen Jin received the B.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China, Anhui, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He is a professor at the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at the South China University of Technology. His research interests include Optical Character Recognition, Document Analysis and Recognition, Scene Text Detection and Recognition, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. He has authored over 200 scientific papers. He received the New Century Excellent Talent Program of MOE Award and the Guangdong Pearl River Distinguished Professor Award in 2006 and 2011, respectively.
YuLiang Liu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the South China University of Technology, China, in 2016 and 2020. He is a research professor at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include scene text understanding, handwritten character recognition, document analysis, and deep learning-based text detection and recognition.
Yaqiang Wu is a Research Director at Lenovo and oversee multiple research areas including cloud computing, soft engineering and AI empowered applications. His own research has focused on computer vision, multimedia and machine learning. He and his team won several competitions in text detection and recognition at ICDAR and ICPR in recent years. He received the M.S. degree of Computer Science from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 2006.
